THE ROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF IMAGING IN DIAGNOSIS AND DIFFERANTIAL DIAGNOSIS OF OSTEOARTHRITIS

Developping imaging techniques is providing more options for diagnosis, differential diagnosis and monitoring of OA. Historically plain radiography has been the primary investigative tool to measure structural change in OA, and conventional radiographic diagnosis has been take one's place as gold standart in literature.The other imaging modalities,such as ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, scintigraphy also provide joint structural or physiological/ functional information in OA.
