DENTAL MANAGEMENT AND ORAL COMPLICATIONS IN ELDERLY

Faculity of Dentistry, Oral medicine, Kerman, Ä°RAN People after reaching the age of 40 years, experience a progressive decline in homeostatic control in the ability to respond to stress and change. Today, there are more than 35 million people aged 65 and over in the United States. On the basis of the information provided, a dramatic increase is expected in the number of older adults in the world. Also, these older adults will need increasing levels of dental care in the years to come. Therefore dentists must be aware of the special management needed to treat this group of patients. The aim of this paper is to review dental management and oral complications of older adults. Keywords : Dental management, Oral complications, Older, Adults
