Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Kulak Burun Boğaz Anabilim Dalı-ANKARA The main aim of this paper is to discuss age-related changes of three major components of social communication: hearing, voice and speech. The secondary purpose is to discuss the effect of these changes on the geriatrics and examine the interrelation of the related disciplines. In addition, it has been tried to discuss the suitable rehabilitative methods for the hearing impaired and/or voice and speech disordered in the elderly patients.
