TECHNOLOGY USAGE OF 45 AND OVER AGE ADULTS IN DAILY LIFE
Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Aile ve Tüketici Bilimleri ANKARA Introduction: This research is a descriptive study and was planned to determine technology usage of elderly and differences from the younger adults of elderly in daily life.

Materials and Method: This research has been conducted in 285 people who were 45 and older people. Subjects has been selected by simple randomly method from Bar›fl Sitesi village clinic of Ankara (118) and Hacettepe University (167). The use of technology in daily living has been compared between 65 and older people and 45-54, 55-64 age groups. Statistical evaluation of data has been made with chi- square analysis.

Results: It was founded that the ratio of use of technology was lower and the knowledge of technological devices was less and the ratio of use of the technological devices without help was lower than 45-54 and 55-64 age group.

Conclusion: It was found that older people used the technology less than young people and they had less knowledge about technological devices and it is difficult to use of technological devices for older people than young people. However the ratio of the use of technology has been increased by increased education level and duration of use of technological devices. Keywords : Elderly, Technology, Technology usage
