In this study, the effectivity and safety of the pressure controlled external ventricular drainage (EVD) was prospectively investigated in the patients suffered from aneurysmatic intraventricular haematomas presented with acutely elevated intracranial pressure signs and poor clinical grade in the geriatric age. There was no specific complication belong to pressure controlled EVD in this group comprising 17 geriatric patients. The mortality rate of intraventricular haematomas was found as 83%. We concluded that pressure controlled EVD is an effective method in the patients with intraventricular haematomas originating a high flow intracranial arterial aneurysm rupturing to control elevated intracranial pressure, draining haemorrhagic cerebrospinal fluid, and to ensure a direct drug injection route.
