EVALUATION OF FALLS IN GERIATRIC PATIENTS
Gülhane Askeri Tıp Fakültesi İç Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı Geriatri Bilim Dalı, ANKARA Falling is one of the commonest geriatric syndromes which causes lots of morbidities an even mortality in some cases. Falling effects both the quality of life, physical health and psychological health of the elderly. Falling and history of previous falls should be evaluated carefully and the necessary preventions and treatment plans should be done during assessment of an elderly patient. Awareness about falls should be increased among elderly, relatives of the elderly, staff working in elderly care, doctors and politicians leading the government policy about elderly health.
