There were previous MI in 10 patients history. Aorta-coronary by-pass was performed in 7 patients, angioplasty and stent used in 3 patients before operation. 6 patients had diabetes mellitus, 12 patients had hypertension, 3 patients had renal insufficiency. We performed emergency surgery in two patients due to aortic rupture. Aorta iliac by-pass was performed in 17 cases, aorta bifemoral by-pass in 8 cases, and aortic tube graft was used in 3 cases. 5 patients died. Two patients were operated as emergency cases, 2 patients have poor cardiac functions, one patient has chronic renal insufficiency and cardiac problem. Abdominal aortic aneurysm is primarily a disease of the elderly males. So this is an important problem in the geriatric group. Ultrasonic images of the abdominal aorta should be performed in over 65 ages population followed at least once a year. We think that this approach will reduce mortality and morbidity rates.
