Materials and Method: Patients who have suffered from their analog hearing aids were included in this study. The patients whose sufferings were eliminated after technical help and educational support for their hearing aids were excluded. The performance of hearing aids was objectively analyzed by insertion gain measurements.
Results: Hearing aids of all patients were found to be insufficient with respect to frequency response and full-on gain. High performance was noted for the new hearing aids that were selected by subjective and objective methods. There were no patients suffering from their new hearing aids, during the follow-up.
Conclusion: Hearing aid analysis and insertion gain measurements are the practical and objective methods of hearing aids' evaluation. These methods should take place in routine audiological practice in our country.
