Introduction
Fifth Course on Geriatrics and Gerontology was held during the 25 th-29 th of April, 2016 in Ankara. All aspects of geriatrics and gerontology were presented and discussed during this interactive course which was organized in collaboration with Turkish Geriatrics Society-TGS, the International Institute on Ageing-INIA, United Nations Malta and Hacettepe University Research Center of Geriatric Sciences-GEBAM.Prof. Dilek ASLAN, Assoc. Prof. Tolga Reşat AYDOS, Prof. Terken BAYDAR, Prof. Mehmet BEYAZOVA, Prof. Sedat BOYACIOĞLU, Prof. Banu CANGÖZ, Assoc. Prof. Ozlem ERDEN AKI, Prof. Fethiye ERDİL, Dr. Marvin FORMOSA, Prof. Yeşim GÖKÇE KUTSAL, Prof. Nur HERSEK, Prof. Gerald KOH, Prof. Haldun MÜDERRİSOĞLU, Dr. Osman ORSEL, Prof. Neslişah RAKICIOĞLU, Dr. Meltem fiENGELEN, Assist. Prof. Zahide TUNA took part as the trainers from International Institute on Aging-INIA, Malta Üniversity, Faculty for Social Wellbeing, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore, National University Health System, Hacettepe University, Medical School, School of Dentistry, School of Pharmacy, Scool of Health Sciences, School of Psychology, School of Nursing, Baskent University School of Medicine, Gazi University School of Medicine, Darusssafaka Rehabilitation Center and Atatürk Chest Diseases Hospital.
Because of the great interest and the admiration of the participants, the committee decided to organize new courses in the coming years.
