Akdeniz Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Fiziksel Tıp ve Rehabilitasyon Anabilim Dalı, ANTALYA The relationship betwen osteoarthritis, a degenerative disease which can be described as degradation of the joint cartilage and development of new bone formation and osteoporosis which is associated with increased fracture risk due to diminished bone strenght has been studied for years. In some studies bone mineral density in osteoarthritis was found increased and in some others an increased fracture risk was reported in these patients.
