The adaptive capacity of kidney to stres and disease in the elderly is restricted. So elderly people may develop fluid and electrolyte disorders and renal failure under the conditions that would be tolerated by younger individuals. The clinician should be aware of these alterations in order to anticipate and beter treat the clinical conditions that occur in great freguency in elderly. In this manuscript age related changes in renal morphology and renal physiology and their clinical importance has been reviewed. Keywords : Aging, Kidney, Fluid-Electrolyte
